Learn to Fly in Manchester with our Flight Training Courses

Trial Flying Lessons - Learn to Fly!

Your first step towards learning to fly would usually be your trial lesson. These lessons also make excellent gifts for such occasions as birthdays, christmas, valentines day etc. Whatever the reason for your trial flight, we aim to make it the most enjoyable experience possible and would hope to encourage your interest in learning to fly.

Private Pilots Licence (PPL) Training

Manchester Flight Training is approved under the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to teach and examine the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) PPL (A) syllabus. This comprises of a minimum of 45 hours training, of which, a minimum of 25 hours dual and 10 hours solo must be flown.

National Private Pilot’s Licence (NPPL)

Ratings included in an NPPL used to be issued with a 12 month validity. It was found that applying a 12 month validity date at initial issue could cause confusion if the rating was maintained by means of the experience method. Accordingly the ratings page of the NPPL now only shows the date a skill test was passed and a validity column is not included on the certificate of revalidation page.

Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) Rating/IR(R)

The IMC IR(R) Rating is a national rating that can be added to a UK issued pilot licence. It is designed to enhance the privileges and instrument flying skills of a PPL holder that will enable a pilot to fly in weather conditions below the minimum requirements for a basic PPL holder.

The Flight Instructor Training Course

The Flight Instructor Course is one of the most demanding but enjoyable courses you will undertake during your flying career. You will learn how to teach all of the lessons which make up the PPL syllabus.

Ground School

Manchester Flight Training offers groundschool to accompany all types of flying tuition or to help you with your written examinations relating to our training. We use the latest in interactive software and training tools to ensure that your groundschool instruction is completed to the highest possible standard.
